Midlands-suppliers of technology for the European corporate events industry, DB Systems, is celebrating being awarded Safe Contractor Certification.
The company’s logistics and compliance director, Mark Danvers, said of the award: “We take health and safety very seriously, it’s not just another box we tick, but an integral part of everything we do. From day one, DB Systems has always strived to be not only the most technologically innovative and competitive AV supplier in the events industry, but also the most responsible.”
The process for achieving the Safe Contractor certification is rigorous involving auditing daily processes.
The scheme is run and assessed by the Alcumus Group, who provide technology-led, compliance risk management certification and accreditation, supporting UK and international clients comply with the latest legislation, and helping create safe working environments.
Danvers says the benefits of the accreditation can be viewed from two perspectives: “Firstly, the message to our staff and anybody wishing to work with DB Systems: your welfare is our top priority. We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe at work. Secondly, but of equal importance, it reassures our clients that we give on-site safety the utmost level of importance.”
In addition to becoming a Safe Contractor, DB Systems holds ISO20121, ISO14001, and ISO9001 management system standards, and has a ‘zero to landfill’ policy at its headquarters in Tewkesbury.
DB Event Networks has also been recognised by the Event Technology Awards, for its innovative approach to providing connectivity and wireless internet at events. The company received the award at a ceremony at London’s Troxy venue on 9 November. The award wasn’t for one specific project, but for the consistent provision of secure and robust networks at events such as the Farnborough International Airshow, Offshore Exhibition at the AECC in Aberdeen, and the IMEX exhibition and networking event in Frankfurt, among others.
