The Festival & Outdoor Events Show, which takes place at Sandown Park Racecourse from 27-28 September, could well prove a useful experience for meetings and events organisers.
Organisers who are keen to take their conferences, meeting or events outdoors will find over 100 exhibitors showcasing products and services ideal for instances.
As we covered in July’s issue of CN, outdoor meetings are becoming increasingly popular with organisers and delegates as they provide a welcome alternative from the conventional meeting room, as well as marrying well with teambuilding activities.
“Who wants to be inside a conference room when the sun is out? Not many,” says Kerry Buthee, senior project manager at drp. “Where possible, it is essential to try and bring elements of the outdoors into an event. There are some ways you can do this easily.
“Teambuilding activities like treasure hunting for instance, which require exploring, gathering and working together in the outdoors. We did this for one of our clients, it worked really well, and brought people together.”
