Tobacco Dock has hosted the first meeting of this year’s Fast Forward 15 events.

The mentoring initiative, which encourages and inspires women in the events and hospitality sectors, provides applicants with the opportunity to be mentored, encouraged and advised by an industry expert for a period of one year, as well as becoming part of a wider community of successful women supporters. This year, the initiative’s mentors include Lipika Mandal (Linklaters), Martin Jensen (Lundbeck) and Andrew Mosley (The Grand Brighton).

2017’s intake met for the first time at Tobacco Dock in order to set their business and personal goals, as well as to hone their presentation skills and personal elevator pitch in front of the group. The east London venue provided the group with private meeting spaces as well as refreshments from its renowned in-house caterer, Tobacco Dock Food.

Fay Sharpe, vice president of marketing and creative BCD M&E and founder of Fast Forward 15, said: “I am excited to have kicked off the first mentee meet up at Tobacco Dock. Our values are very much aligned as Fast Forward 15 is all about collaboration, sharing knowledge and challenging the norm. It was an very inspiring day and one that our mentees have gained from tremendously”.
