Manchester Central reports 43% boost in event spend from retail brand clients

Manchester Central has reported securing contracts with a string of retail brands, including SPAR and Co-op.

The venue said it had witnessed a 43% annual increase in average spend on retail events, with 80% of its retail clients who hosted events at Manchester Central in the last financial year returning in FY18.

Yvonne Fennell, SPAR UK retail development manager, said: “In October, SPAR is celebrating its 60th anniversary of convenience retailing in the UK at Manchester Central. We chose this iconic venue because we wanted somewhere impressive but where all 1,800 guests could easily travel to from across the UK.

“We needed a venue that offered scale, excitement and the ability to make this our biggest and best event in the history of our business. Manchester Central provides just that and we’re really looking forward to the party!”
