Lord’s adds two new players to its events team

In the week that England’s cricketeers won the Oval Test to go 2-1 up in the series against South Africa, Lord’s Cricket Ground, owned by the MCC added to new players to its meetings and events team.

Robyn Theron joins the team as meetings and events sales manager, moving from a similar role at Balls Brothers, a central London venue owned by Novus Leisure.

Robyn’s new role will see her implementing key strategies to drive business growth and assist with the management of meetings and events sales. She has previously worked also in sales and marketing at the Aquila Private Game Reserve, a luxury spa set in the Southern Karoo Highlands, South Africa.

Additionally, Sarah Greenwood joins the team as meetings and events sales executive. Previously she had worked at Ravenwood Hall and her remit includes dealing with reactive sales and enquiries, conducting site visits and liaising with private and corporate clients to assist with their event planning.

Sarah has also previously worked as the VIP area manager for the MOBO Awards.

Nick Kenton, head of sales for meetings, events and hospitality at Lord’s comments: “We are delighted to welcome Robyn and Sarah to the team. They both have excellent previous experience, which I know will make an important contribution to managing our ever-increasing business volume.”

Lord’s has 12 unique spaces which can host meetings, conferences, receptions, dinners and weddings for up to 1,000 people. Famous spaces available for events hire include the Long Room and the J.P. Morgan Media Centre.
