The Jockey Club’s Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher, Surrey, held an exclusive teambuilding sampler day for the media in August. The event was to offer a first-hand insight of the venue’s new teambuilding package: Sandown Park Business Adventures.
The media began the day with breakfast in the Owner’s Lounge before heading over the Daytona Sandown Park, one of south England’s leading kart circuits, for a 20-minute sprint race.
After, the guests were invited to take on Skywalk, a new zip-wire assault course that sees people tackle a variety of challenging obstacles suspended from the trees while attached to a cable.
Guests then enjoyed a BBQ lunch before gathering for the awards presentation to learn who had won the kart race.
George Smith, Mash Media, said: “I didn’t really know what to expect. I’ve only ever visited Sandown Park for horse racing and wasn’t really aware of the true versatility of the place.
“The event space we used for breakfast and lunch made a really nice base for the day, but I really enjoyed the activities.
“The karting was great fun, and the Skywalk was just something else. I’m not that great with heights but I really felt like I conquered that today. I’d absolutely do it again.”
Dan Smyth, regional business development executive – London, The Jockey Club, added: “The Sandown Park Business Adventures teambuilding day was a great showcase of the what activities we can host. Everyone that attended gained a great insight into the adrenaline pumping pursuits we have on-site, along with what our third parties can offer also.
“We’re very lucky to have the likes of Daytona Motorsport and Skywalk a short-walk away, along with an onsite golf course that can offer 9-hole golf and foot golf which makes Sandown Park a truly unique one-stop shop for teambuilding.”
