The events team at visitor attraction IWM London has welcomed two new recruits.
Peyton Events which caters for events at the venue, has appointed Laura Fitzgerald as event sales manager and Abigail Jeffreys to the newly created role of event sales coordinator.
IWM London, which tells the story of those whose lives have been shaped by conflict, from the First World War to the present day, through permanent and temporary exhibitions, is also a conference and event venue and the pair will be tasked with building the corporate client base.
Fitzgerald, from Canvey Island, started her career at The Savoy as a member of the banqueting and event team, before joining the sales teams at Novotel London Excel and Crown Partnership – Venue Reservations, London.
And Jeffreys joins from Hilton Hotel, Cardiff, where she was conference and events team leader.
IWM London’s Atrium is a dramatic event space featuring some of the 20th century’s most famous aircraft, including a Spitfire and a Harrier jet used in Afghanistan, as well as a German V2 rocket suspended from the 25m high vaulted ceiling.
Its covered Roof Terrace, designed by Foster + Partners is popular for a variety of events, while the Orpen Boardroom overlooks the museum’s entrance with its two 15-inch naval guns.
