Convention bureau Meet in Ireland returned to the North of England recently for its bi-annual meetings and events buyer networking event. Over 60 event professionals came to hear more about Ireland, explore business, network and attend a special dinner at Manchester House.

The workshop took place at the newly refurbished Principal Manchester with over 27 organisations representing the meetings and events product across the island of Ireland, in attendance.

The line up included Dublin Convention Bureau, Castlemartyr Golf Resort, Guinness Storehouse, Lough Erne Resort, Shannon Region Conference & Sports Bureau, and Wallace Travel Group, as well as Titanic Belfast, Visit Derry and Tourism Northern Ireland.

The trade guests were joined by 35 meeting and event organisers based in the North of England, all with an interest in bringing events to Ireland.

“This is a really important event for us, and one where we get to meet our enthusiastic customers from the North of England,” said Joyce McElroy, Meet in Ireland. “We’re seeing substantial growth within our meetings and events business, especially within the corporate sector, and there are some really quality events represented by companies in the North. It was great to hear more and we hope to welcome them to Ireland soon.”

Meet in Ireland will shortly announce its Corporate Support Programme and a new strategy for corporate events looking to come to Ireland. The organisation hosts regular meet-ups between Irish hotels, destinations, venues and suppliers, and buyers throughout the UK.
