Event management company, the Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), has appointed Ellie Barnes as operations director. The Manchester-based agency says the move is part of its strategic development plan for 2017-18.
Formerly a senior event producer for the company, Barnes became a shareholder in TLC in 2016 and takes up her new role managing TLC’s day-to-day operation. She has worked for TLC for five years.
“No two days are ever the same at TLC,” says Barnes. “The new role will give me greater responsibility within the business including management of our amazing team, and the creative scope to push our conference and event production values and expectations even further.”
Company founder and managing director, Liz Taylor, will take responsibility for strategic development and spearheading sales and marketing at TLC, and remains involved in the company’s events work by overseeing the major events schedule. Barnes’ new role will also allow Taylor to invest time in developing TLC’s latest service; venue marketing consultancy.
Having secured clients last month including Lonestar Boutique Hotel & Suites, Barbados, a luxury hotel in Jersey and one in the north-west of England, Taylor says she is keen to advise more venues looking to grow their luxury wedding, meeting and special events markets.
“I was approached a few months ago by a venue and asked if I would offer advice on how to develop their product and service to attract a high-quality wedding clientele. I was genuinely excited by the idea of taking all our knowledge as event and wedding producers, and using it to help the client to make their service more relevant. I know what works and what doesn’t when it comes to venues.”
She added that some clients getting their businesses ready for Brexit are wanting to explore the potential of the MICE sector for additional revenue streams.
