Coventry & Warwickshire Business Festival invites event applications

Applications to run an event at the inaugural Coventry & Warwickshire Business Festival later this year are now being invited.

The Festival will run 20 November to 1 December 2017 and will be the largest Business Festival ever to take place in the region.

Organisers are hopeful of staging up to 75 seminars, lectures, workshops and conferences, all put on by local businesses across the fortnight.

They also already report over 40 expressions of interest received from companies interested in running events.

Business Festival events can be anything from an online webinar or small workshop, to a large trade show or national conference. The stipulation is that all events should benefit local businesses, showcase what the region has to offer or be topical or of national significance.

Examples could include how to source new supply chains, exporting and selling to foreign markets, or improving staff retention; through to accessing university research; maximising low carbon technologies or perhaps how recent political events might affect SMEs.

The Business Festival organisers project market reach of around two million in year one and up to 7,500 visitors, with 15% coming from outside of Coventry and Warwickshire.

The Festival has been developed by the Coventry & Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub.

Craig Humphrey, managing director of the Coventry & Warwickshire Growth Hub, said: “This is a real opportunity to showcase the vast range of knowledge, commerce, culture and innovative businesses we have in Coventry and Warwickshire and to entice more businesses to locate here.”

Organisations from across Coventry & Warwickshire can apply via the website to run an event as part of the Business Festival.
