XSEM makes senior hires as business grows

Leeds-based marketing and events specialist XSEM has announced a series of new hires as the business expands.

Sarah-Jane Johnston has joined in a newly created role of head of operations, while Charlotte Scoular is the new business development manager. Other recruits include Diana Mendonca Ajuz, who joins as project manager, Victoria Smith as senior project manager and Chloe Hayton taking a new role overseeing ticketing and rewards for the firm’s growing incentives programme business.

Dan Bardgett, managing director at XSEM, said: “We’re thrilled to have secured Sarah-Jane’s services at the start of the year. She brings an impressive depth of industry experience and has already been transformational in the way she’s further developed XSEM with tactical new hires, who are already providing real added value.”

Johnston said: “It’s really exciting to be joining XSEM at such a pivotal stage. They’ve just purchased a new HQ in the centre of Leeds, rebranded and launched a new website and all the team here are tremendously driven to continue to deliver impactful marketing and event solutions.”

Johnston brings a wealth of experience, arriving from The fresh Group in Manchester, where she was head of operations. Prior to that, she was an account and business director at Ashfield Meetings and Events in the Midlands. She also spent more than nine years as Edinburgh First’s head of conference and events team.

The additional four new team members also have great depth of experience from agency to client side, retail and hospitality.

XSEM, which now has 26 members of staff, has recently completed a number of major events, which include incentive trips to Iceland, Italy and New York, as well as the management of Nisa’s annual exhibition and gala dinner for over 2,000 members, suppliers and stakeholders, at Stoneleigh Park earlier this month.
