Peterborough effect: East of England Arena & Event Centre invests £4.4m in new services

The East of England Arena and Event Centre (EEAEC) has announced a £4.4m investment in hospitality services. Formerly the Peterborough Arena, the venue management awarded a three-year contract to Amadeus to provide all hospitality catering at the venue, including weddings, banquets and corporate events across the newly refurbished conference centre, arena and exhibition centre.

Richard Tate, EEAEC chairman, explained the venue’s decision to award the contract to Amadeus, part of the NEC group.  “Following the recent, extensive investment in our buildings and infrastructure, we also wanted to invest strongly in the services that help create an outstanding experience for exhibitors and visitors alike. Hospitality and catering play a vital role in shaping positive customer perceptions. Amadeus has proven itself able to deliver not only the capacity and capability required for a venue of our size, but also exceptional dedication to quality and customer service”

Kevin Watson, Amadeus’ managing director, added: “We bring four decades of experience and expertise in conference and exhibition catering to the EEAEC, and we’re constantly innovating and changing our offering based on delegate or visitor profile. Serving four million customers annually, we also understand the art of arena catering and the importance of speed of sale without compromising on quality.”
