Mick George renews city events venue sponsorship

Mick George Ltd has renewed its annual commercial partnership with the East of England Arena and Events Centre for the third year running.

The sponsorship deal represents a significant investment in the venue, which plans to put the funds towards its facilities enhancement programme.

This is great news for the local community as it will subsequently make the arena a more attractive proposition to external promoters and event organisers, which have been responsible for bringing some high profile names to the city.

Ian Strange, East of England Arena and Events Centre’s commercial manager, said: “Last year we hosted the comedian Billy Connelly and imminently have Brian Cox, the world-renowned physicist, lined up to stage one of his epic live performances.

“Acts such as these are very exciting and draw in visitors from outside the local area, boosting Peterborough’s business economy. Our packed events schedule also features the return of shows such as ‘The Carole Nash MCN Festival of Motorcycling’, our very own ‘Just Dogs Live’ and many more; there really is something for everyone.

“Mick George Ltd is currently one of the East of England’s fastest growing businesses. It is a major success story and we are delighted to continue the partnership and our association with such a positive brand which, like ourselves, also values the importance of being an integral part of the regional community within which it operates.”

The new agreement means Mick George Ltd retains its status as the East of England Arena and Events Centre’s headline sponsor.

“We originally became a sponsor in 2015 and over the last three years have developed a fantastic relationship that continues to grow in strength ” commented Stuart Costello, head of marketing at Mick George Ltd. “Our branding is highly visible across the venue, which has raised our business profile phenomenally, not withstanding the various facility management provisions that we are now engaged with on-site.”

He continued: “The East of England Arena and Events Centre is one of Peterborough’s most versatile indoor and outdoor facilities, which hosts a diverse range of entertainment, exhibitions and corporate occasions. We are proud of our affiliation with the arena and its staff, and are pleased to renew our partnership.”
