Values at the heart of #EventPlannersTalk inaugural multi-hub event

#EventPlannersTalk is launching its first live event to take place simultaneously in two international event hubs.

London and Frankfurt are the chosen hubs for the event, entitled #EventPlannersTalk World Café. It will run on 31 May 2017 in partnership with the German Event Planners Association and Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau and will include an interactive workshop about values in the events industry, with focus on long-term vision with event stakeholders.

Values in the events industry form part of the seven-point Code of Conduct (Werde Codex) created in 2016 by The Werte Foundation. The seven values are: honesty, loyalty, courage, respect, vision, responsibility and reliability.

Attendees at both locations will be split into breakout groups to discuss best practices in working with event stakeholders.

All attendees will then be able to share event insights on social media and these will be shown on a shared Social Wall, combining insights from both hubs.

In London, the event will be moderated by Caleb Parker, Tech chair of the HBAA and director of Select Event Solutions.

In Frankfurt, it will be moderated by Bernd Fritzges, CEO of the German Event Planners Association.

Irina Trofimovskaya, founder of The MICE Blog and #EventPlannersTalk, commented: “I’m excited to partner with The German Event Planners Association and Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau, both are very innovative, creative and forward thinking.

“The topic originated in Germany by the Werte Foundation in 2016 and will see its international debut at #EventPlannersTalk live event in London. The values mentioned in the Codex are so important today in our industry to build and maintain sustainable work relationships with our stakeholders. I think that the UK market will find great benefit in this discussion.”

Livio Goetz, manager UK & Ireland at SCIB, added: “As a national convention bureau, we work with a broad range of corporate, agency, PCO and association clients and serve as the first point of contact between our partners and buyers. We support this discussion and want to encourage planners to share valuable insights and experience with the global events industry.

“The international event format aligns with what Switzerland stands for in terms of innovation, creativity and connectivity.”

In London, the event will take place at The Royal College of Physicians (pictured) and in Frankfurt at the Kameha Suite.

Event planners can attend at one of the locations or watch the live-stream on The MICE Blog Facebook page from 20.00 local time.
