Triggerfish MD, Andrew White, has completed the Marathon Des Sables, now in its 32nd year. Said to be the toughest foot race on earth, Marathon Des Sables sees runners compete to complete a 256km race across The Sahara in six days, in soaring temperatures of up to 50 degrees. All competitors carry their own food and sleeping equipment with only water rations given out on a daily basis.
“Nothing quite prepares you for the heat and solitude of running across The Sahara; especially on the day when we had to complete an 80km stretch in one go. The sand and the dunes sap the legs of all energy, add the heat and it’s a real mental battle to get to the end”, said Andrew White.
