Scottish Business Hotel of the Year winner revealed

Hilton Edinburgh Carlton has been awarded the Business Hotel of the Year award at the Scottish Hotel Awards. The hotel, which is owned and operated by Amaris Hospitality, battled off competition from other regional finalists to snap-up the coveted accolade, which is widely recognised across the Scottish tourist industry.

The 14th annual Scottish Hotel Awards, dubbed the ‘Scottish hotel Oscars’ were held on 23 April at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow. deputy general manager, Pamela McAllister and Kerry Fleming, revenue manager picked up the award at the gala dinner, which was hosted by Carol Smilie.

Speaking at the event, Pamela McAllister commented: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award which reaffirms our place on the Scottish hospitality map. It is a wonderful reward for the staff that work tirelessly to offer our business guests a first-rate meetings and events space with superb overnight accommodation and facilities.”

The iconic hotel, which is located on North Bridge Street, just off the historic Royal Mile, has been transformed following an investment of £17m and re-launched last August as the sixteenth hotel in Hilton’s Scottish portfolio.

Every part of the Grade B listed building, including its 211 bedrooms, public areas and events space has been completely refurbished.  A brand-new Marco Pierre White Steakhouse has also been added.

Much of the investment has focused on the hotel’s seven flexible meeting and events spaces, which are located on the first floor of the hotel and boast spectacular views of the beautiful city through gothic-style high arch windows. The largest room, the Highland Suite, can accommodate 200 delegates theatre style and offers an abundance of natural daylight.

Each of the fully flexible rooms offers contemporary and comfortable furnishings, the latest AV equipment, a built-in PA system, LCD projection screens, LED TVs and complimentary high-speed WiFi.

Located in the heart of the city centre, the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton is within walking distance of all the city’s amenities and just a three-minute stroll from Edinburgh Waverley Station. Edinburgh International Airport is also just 8.4 miles away.
