Live and experiential agency WRG has hired Dave Johnstone as technical director, in what the company says is a newly created role designed to provide a central point for WRG’s technical capabilities.
Johnstone will managing long-term supplier relationships and lead the agency’s capabilities in health and safety.
Johnstone brings 12 years’ experience leading the technical delivery of major corporate events around the world for clients that have included Cisco, Google and Ford.
“I’ve had the privilege of working with some exceptionally talented teams over the years, delivering creatively-led events and experiences for global brands,” he says. “I’m excited to be joining WRG as the momentum builds at this pivotal time. I look forward to providing leadership, championing technical innovation and driving a commercially-minded culture as I work to support the Live Events team.”
Tim Williams, operations director at WRG, adds: “Dave will provide a new centre to WRG’s production offer and unquestionably assist WRG to continue to deliver technical excellence and realise our creative ambitions on behalf of our clients in a safe, efficient and cost effective way.”
Johnstone appointment follows three other senior appointments across creative and production at WRG this year.
WRG is part of the Creative Engagement Group, which employs 150 staff with offices in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific.
