Long-standing Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) portfolio director, Craig Moyes, has left the company to take up the role of CEO of the Society of Garden Designers. Moyes had, in the past, been responsible for the ibtm brand portfolio.
He had been with Reed for 10 years and the company tells CN: “there are no plans to replace the position”.
Meanwhile, new figures released by RTE’s World Travel Market London, indicate that the 2016 edition of the event facilitated a million on-stand business meetings.
Show organisers claim the event helped generate up to £2.8bn in industry deals.
In total, 923,916 on-stand business meetings took place at WTM London 2016, the organisers say, with each exhibitor hosting around 200 on-stand meetings on average over the course of the show. This number excludes business meetings at pre-scheduled appointment events such as ILTM at WTM. It also excludes the WTM Speed Networking session, which takes place on the first day of the event for WTM Buyers’ Club members and on Wednesday for digital Influencers (bloggers).
RTE said WTM London 2016 recorded a joint-record 51,500 participants, including a 9% increase in WTM Buyers’ Club members to 9,910.
WTM London, senior director, Simon Press, said: “To host approaching one million on-stand meetings at World Travel Market London is testament to the value of exhibiting at the event.”
