MPI Connects, an events sector recruitment initiative that brings together industry employers with graduates and entry-level job seekers, will take place at the University of Greenwich on Friday 21 April.

The speed-networking event hosted by MPI UK & Ireland is now in its third year. The 2017 programme will feature employers including Smyle, Cvent and Grass Roots Group. Both Smyle and Grass Roots Group have successfully hired new employees met at MPI Connects events held in previous years.

Jane Baker, president of the MPI UK&I Chapter, said: “In its ambitions to connect the global meetings and events community, MPI is committed to supporting talented industry newcomers embark on their future careers. MPI Connects has proved to be a valuable initiative for those graduates and job seekers looking for entry level positions as well as offering employers a fast and cost-effective recruitment tool.”

Sue Massey, operational director at Grass Roots Meetings & Events, said: “Our agency has participated at MPI Connects every year since its launch. Each year, our HR team has been hugely impressed by the calibre of the candidates we’ve met. It’s an excellent initiative and one I would whole-heartedly recommend to other industry employers.”

Registration for events industry employers costs £250. Registration for events students is free of charge with a £30 fee for no-shows or cancellations made less than three days before the event.
