ExCeL London appoints new associations sales manager

ExCeL London has strengthened its Conference & Events team with the appointment of Ines Lebaek as sales manager – associations. The role will include working with national and international associations to attract new events to London, as well as managing existing client relationships. Lebaek joins the team at ExCeL from VisitDenmark, where she was responsible for promoting the destination, for conferences and incentives, within Britain and Ireland. VisitDenmark made wide-ranging cuts in its European representation for business events at the end of 2016.

She will report in to head of conventions, Samantha Shamkh, and fills the role vacated by Jamie Ades-Griggs in December.

James Rees, executive director at ExCeL London, commented: “2017 is set to be our busiest ever year for conferences and events, with congress business across all sectors growing exponentially. Moreover, 50% of all the conventions and meetings held at ExCeL London are now booked by international planners. It is, therefore, enormously beneficial for us to welcome Ines as part of our team with her experience of working across international markets, providing us with an even more global perspective when promoting London’s premier venue.”
