Central London venue IET London: Savoy Place has continued to invest in its facilities with £200,000 of digital upgrades and fittings installed, including new AV equipment and production lighting.
The in-house AV and Digital Team has increased to eight.
As the UK headquarters of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Savoy Place is well placed at the forefront of digital innovation. The investments in the Kelvin Lecture Theatre, Watson Watt, Exhibition Room and roof terrace will greatly improve and significantly cut set-up time.
The Kelvin Lecture Theatre, the venue’s largest space seating 451, can now offer lighting support for higher-spec events, awards and conferences.
Further digital upgrades include replacing 100-inch LED walls with a 140-inch projector wall in the Watson Watt and Exhibition Room, both featuring added PIP (Picture in Picture) software.
Sean Spencer, head of venues and facilities at IET Venues said: “We want our delegates and clients to be open with us and we’ve listened to their feedback. These upgrades, along with further investment to the Faraday Centre and roof terrace, will allow us to provide a greater style and variety of events with relative simplicity, and, importantly quicker turnaround between events.
“We have built our reputation on being a global engineering hub, and our knowledge and resource through the IET ensures that we remain at the pinnacle of technical spec at event venues in the capital.”
