Southport Conferences will be celebrating the return of The Open to the ‘golf coast’ this summer, at International Confex (1– 2 March). The destination returns to the events industry exhibition once again, but this time with a new brand, and anticipating the arrival of another hallmark event to the region.
Royal Birkdale remains one of the many jewels in Southport’s crown and the club will will be hosting The Open for a 10th time.
The resort will also be unveiling its new brand – ‘Different Everytime’, at Confex. The creative was introduced to underline the different experiences that can take place in the town, encouraging event professionals to come back to the destination to host new and exciting events.
“Every time we come to Confex we seem to have another special event to celebrate,” says Sammi Rudge, business tourism development officer at Southport Conferences. “Last year we had the Miss England & Mr World Grand Finals, and this year we have The Open. Each of them large events which create a huge amount of media exposure, but they couldn’t be more different; it really demonstrates the diversity of events we host here in Southport.”
“The new brand will also present a fresh and contemporary side to Southport, and shows we can mix modern and heritage, old and new, and that our destination can deliver something different ‘every time’,” adds Rudge.
