Moving up: drp technician takes on new role

Full service agency drp’s Richard Davies, who has worked as a show & sound technician at the company for six years, is moving to the creative division to become an assistant producer.

Davies began his career at drp as a show technician after graduating in Sound Engineering and Production at Birmingham City University. For the past five years, he has been working in a senior role within the Show Technical team at the head office in Hartlebury, and this month sees him move into Production at drp.

Although both departments sit in the Live Division of drp, as an assistant producer, Davies will be producing a range of elements rather than specifically technical and audio. In his new position, he will be supporting the Producers team across a wide range of new and existing drp clients on a variety of events, as well as working on his own projects. Davies is very eager to start his role, commenting, “Within my time at drp, I have been fortunate enough to work as a trusted Senior Technician on key drp projects across the globe. During my time at drp I have built strong relationships with clients, and being able to ultise these relationships is a great start as an Assistant Producer. I am looking forward to the new challenges my role will bring.”

drp is continuously expanding the team, and currently has 181 highly specialist professionals in three different U.K. offices. The expansion is expected to grow organically during 2017, seeing further growth in all areas of the business.
