Agency big hitters line up for January MPI Insights into economic outlook

One of the highlights of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) UK&I calendar, MPI Insights Economic Outlook, later this month, will involve major agency leaders discussing how the business events sector may fare against prevailing economic winds in 2017.

Vice-president EMEA for CWT Meetings & Events’ Ian Cummings (pictured), Zibrant MD Fay Sharpe and Grass Roots Meetings & Events commercial director Savva Hadji-Savva will take the platform on 31 January at etc.venues’ Fenchurch Street, London, to discuss the outlook for the business events sector. 

Sponsored by Dubai Business Events, the event, organisers hope, will offer agency and corporate event planners and suppliers an opportunity to prepare for what’s next and to benchmark their own businesses.

The event will feature economic insights from Paul Flatters, whose clients include the BBC, the General Medical Council, Heineken, The O2, VisitEngland and Waitrose.

Questions to be posed will include: ‘In volatile times do people want to communicate and attend events, how elections in Europe will impact on Brexit negotiations, what Trump will do to the US economy, when will the hospitality skills shortage start, what will happen to food costs and how will that impact on event costs’.
