QHotels appoints new GM at Forest Pines

Conference hotel specialist QHotels has appointed Michael Lavizani as general manager at its Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort, located on the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire border.

Lavizani brings over 30 years’ experience working in the hospitality industry, beginning his career at Principal Hotels and Paramount Hotels before going on to gain management experience as MD of MSL Hotels and Cosmopolitan Hotels, and GM at Shrigley Hall Golf & Country Club.

Lavizani joined QHotels in 2012 and has managed the group’s Bridgewood Manor in Kent, Telford Hotel & Golf Resort and, most recently, Mottram Hall in Cheshire.

He is tasked with growing the four-star hotel’s significant conference and events offering and driving its new leisure facilities, following a £500,000 investment.

The investment has been made in two new fitness studios in the hotel’s Health Club, the refurbishment of 68 hotel rooms and improvements to the resort’s championship golf course.

Located 11 miles from Humberside Airport, just off the M180 motorway, Forest Pines’ conference and events centre offers 12 conference and meetings rooms for up to 450 people.

“QHotels has invested substantially in Forest Pines’ facilities and accommodation, so it’s a great time to be joining the hotel with all it has to offer both leisure and business guests,” said Lavizani.

QHotels’ MD Michael Purtill worked with Lavizani at the start of his career during his time at Principal Hotels and Paramount Hotels and said: “At QHotels, we continue to attract and retain like-minded people, and Michael is perfect example of this. We have worked together for many years, and I’ve seen him get to know and understand customers at each of the hotels he has managed prior to QHotels, to ensure the very best service. I know his experience at golf resorts will be invaluable to Forest Pines.”
