ESSA announces new chair and vice-chair

The Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA) has announced the appointment of a new chair and vice-chair for the association’s board.

Current chair, Andrew Kennedy of Perton Signs, is stepping down from the post after 2 years, and is handing the torch to current association vice-chair Chris Criscione, MD of Equinox Design. Board member Martin Cairns, commercial director Reeds Carpets, succeeds Criscione as vice-chair.

Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, welcomed the two new appointments, saying, “Both Chris and Martin embody ESSA’s values in everything they do, and their record as board members will I’m sure give confidence to the ESSA membership that they will provide the thoughtful and effective leadership that has characterised previous chairs and vice-chairs.

“I also want to thank Andrew Kennedy personally and on behalf of the Board and the members for the last two years. We came together in our roles at the same time for what has been a very busy, sometimes challenging but also very successful two years. ”

Criscione also thanked the outgoing chair, saying: “Andrew has been a truly excellent chair, leading the way in building a spirit of collaboration amongst association members, and promoting links and greater collaboration between members. I am looking forward to assuming the chair, and building on Andrew’s hard work.”

Cairns concluded: “The opportunity to succeed Chris as vice-chair was too good to miss. I’ve been on the ESSA board for seven years now, and I’m looking forward to working with Chris and the board, and ensuring ESSA is always working for its members.”
