EWL Club UK (eventprofs who lunch) will round off its 2016 event programme with three ‘state of the industry’ lunches designed to take the business pulse of members over the past 12 months, and generate a forecast for 2017 and beyond.
The lunches will take place in Birmingham (2 December), London (16 December) and Manchester (13 January).
The club says it will take the findings from the three events and publish them in a report to be presented to the Event Industry Board and the DCMS. The report, the club says, should be available to the events industry early next year.
Organisers say businesses including Hawthorn, ArrangeMy, Barclays, Off to Work, Edgbaston Stadium, Event Concept, Somerset House, Reed Exhibitions, Historic Royal Palaces, BHSF and The Lowry will have representatives at the events and will debate topics including Brexit, the US election, globalisation and international trade, recruitment, innovation and new technologies.
Helen Moon, EWL Club’s founder and director said: “EWL is a unique by way of having three branches across the UK, in London, Manchester and Birmingham, and via this we are able to get a real feel of how the past year has affected our members and UK event businesses through live debate and discussion in the individual regions, pulling our findings together as one collective voice.”
