London’s Business Design Centre (BDC) has been awarded Gold accreditation against the Investors in People (IIP) standard. The conference and exhibition centre joins the top 7% of accredited organisations across the UK, having demonstrated a major commitment to high performance through good people management.
The family-owned BDC celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and over 70% of its staff have been at the venue for over five years.
Underpinning the IIP standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. IIP also enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.
Paul Devoy, head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Business Design Centre. IIP Gold accreditation is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to success.”
Commenting on the award, BDC chief executive Dominic Jones said: “Over the past 30 years the company has very successfully managed maintain the values associated with a family business.
“I feel our personal touch is where we really excel. We emphasise this strongly through our style of management and it is most definitely recognised by our clients who often comment on the warmth and professionalism of our staff and the venue.”
