AECC shows its colours again in support of Poppy Appeal

Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre’s (AECC’s) Northern Lights Tower will be glowing poppy red from tomorrow (11 November) evening until Sunday 13 November to raise awareness of the Poppy Scotland Appeal.

The Poppy Scotland Appeal raises over £2m each year in support of the Armed Forces community in Scotland and recognises the sacrifices made through service. Poppy Scotland reaches out to those who have served, are still serving, and to their families, offering vital advice, assistance and funding.

AECC interim managing director Graeme Cumming said: “AECC is a great supporter of Poppy Scotland and the life-changing support that they offer to the UK’s Armed Forces community. This will be the third year that will see the venue’s Northern Lights Tower glow poppy red which we hope will encourage passers-by to show their support for this year’s powerful #Extramile campaign and that the reasoning and history behind such an iconic cause will be remembered.”
