The Venue showcases maritime history for shipping line

Shipping line Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has celebrated the first Royal christening of the newest addition to their fleet at The Venue, inside the iconic Royal Liver Building.

Civic dignitaries and VIPs attended the glamorous celebration after Princess Anne gave her official blessing to the Atlantic Sea on 20 October.

The Venue was selected as the location to celebrate this momentous occasion, thanks to its incredible panoramic views of the city’s historic waterfront which is steeped in maritime history.

Around 130 guests a five course meal after in the lavish setting with the new vessel as a backdrop while live music by live violinists played.

Karen Yates, Regional Sales Development Manager, said: “This was truly a spectacular event on our city’s waterfront and The Venue provided the perfect setting for guests of ACL to enjoy the celebrations after the Royal christening of Atlantic Sea.

“I would like to thank the attendees and ACL for choosing The Venue for their event and it is clear from the crowds who gathered to watch the christening of the vessel that there was a strong sentiment of the city’s shipping heritage and excitement for the future of the industry.”
