SECC Glasgow wins mega-bucket deal

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) Glasgow has landed a double corporate win for 2017 with both events focusing on celebrating and inspiring staff.

The SECC will host Kentucky Fried Chicken’s (KFC) Annual Regional Managers Conference in early 2017. It will be the only time when all 850 managers from all of KFC’s UK restaurants are in the same place.

Over one thousand managers will attend the one-day event that will celebrate and recognise the company’s best performers as well as hearing the latest from senior company staff.

In Autumn 2017, SECC will host the annual Arbonne Advantage Conference. It will mark ten years of the company’s success in supplying premium skincare, makeup and wellness products in the UK. Around 2,500 delegates will gather over two days to hear speakers and share knowledge, experience and motivation with colleagues.

Welcoming the double win, Kathleen Warden, director of conferences at the SECC said: “We are delighted to confirm these two prestigious corporate events for 2017. The SECC and the city of Glasgow offer a fantastic business case for corporate meetings and a destination backdrop for inspiring delegates at annual meetings and we are looking forward immensely to hosting both events. Our corporate business goes from strength to strength and we are continually looking to find ways of helping to provide delegates with memorable experiences.”

Claire Edwards, event director for Inspired Thinking Group, KFC’s event agency, said: “I loved the SECC and Glasgow after taking part in a familiarisation trip in 2015, so had no hesitation in proposing the venue for the 2017 event. The space works really well for the many different parts of the conference and the city as a whole is such a friendly and hospitable place. Another big selling point was the food at the venue, which is delicious and always such an important part of any event. We are very much looking forward to next year’s conference, as we know we will be in safe hands with the fabulous team at the SECC.”

The SECC Glasgow has also confirmed six new exhibitions for 2016/2017, including: A Place in the Sun Live from 29-30 October 2016, Salon Expo from 5-6 March 2017, Scotland Works from 3-4 May 2017, The Natural Show from 3-4 June 2017, Installer from 6-7th September 2017 and UCAS on 19 September 2017.

Dan Thurlow, director of exhibition sales said: “These new additions to our event portfolio endorse the SECC’s position as one of the UK’s leading exhibition venues. We are consistently attracting new events keen to engage with the population of Scotland and see our campus as the ideal place to do that.”
