Secretary of state for communities and local government, Sajid Javid, MP, will deliver the keynote at the Telegraph Media Group (TMG) second annual ‘The Telegraph Britain’s Smart Cities’ conference at The Crystal, Royal Victoria Dock, London, on 11 October.
The conference will address how businesses can build growth and resilience in smart city development and organisers promise leading figures from national and local government and business among the speakers.
Among those speaking will be Sir Richard Leese, Leader, Manchester City Council; Professor David Gann CBE, vice-president (Innovation), Imperial College London and Martin Powell, head of urban development at Siemens.
The Telegraph’s deputy editor, Allister Heath, commented: “Smart cities continue to be crucial to the growth of the British economy at both local and national levels, particularly as we approach Brexit. We received a hugely positive response to the first Telegraph Smart Cities conference last year, and I’m very pleased to be able to return to chair the conference again for 2016. With another first-class speaking line-up, it promises to be a thoroughly insightful event.”
