The InterContinental London – The O2 has appointed Suren Hettiarchchi as leisure sales manager and Maria Georgiou as business development executive.
Hettiarchchi joins the hotel from ICVolunteers Conferences, in Switzerland and was formerly at Grange Hotels, London, Sri Lankan Tourist Board, Whistlestop and Crystal Holidays.
Georgiou was previously sales coordinator at Grosvenor House, a Marriott Hotel, and prior to that was at Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotels, May Fair Hotel, Sketch restaurant, London, which she joined having relocated from Switzerland.
Hettiarchchi said on his appointment: “It’s an exciting time to join the team in this pivotal first year, as we look to capitalise on the positive reviews and opening buzz to develop and promote our offer to leisure travellers in the UK and overseas. The InterContinental London – The O2 boasts 453 guest rooms, a spa with 17m pool and eight treatment rooms as well as several restaurants and bars.
