Colchester-based meetings and travel management agency, Inntel, has introduced a mobile ticketing service for rail travel for its customers.
The new M-Ticketing service allows travellers booking via Inntel to have their ticket booking delivered straight to their smartphone so they are not required to carry any paper tickets for their journey. Once a confirmation email is received from Inntel for a booking, clients can then click on an embedded link to download a barcode connected to the Trainline mobile app.
There is no need for internet connection when travelling and the barcode is easily scanned or inspected by train staff. It is accepted widely at station ticket gates.
“The process is very straightforward,” says Jane Dibble, director of business development at Inntel. “It’s a big step forward for the rail industry for the corporate market. It was launched over the summer for leisure travellers and now Inntel is very excited to work with Trainline to bring this to its corporate clients. We are continually looking to save our customers time and money and this will do exactly that.”
The Trainline mobile app allows passengers to access real-time platform and journey information and also an early warning if the train is especially busy, giving them the option to choose an alternative.
