£800,000 LED system will blow you away

A state of the art LED work light and colour changing audience system with full DMX control has been installed at the Genting Arena.

The system is the first of its kind to be installed in a UK arena.

New audience LED fixtures will be individually controlled and have the ability to produce a multitude of colours, transforming the look and feel of the arena bowl pre, during and post event and dramatically enhancing the experience for customers.  Additional benefits at the Birmingham venue also include reduced light glare to audiences during events.

Phil Mead, managing director of the Genting Arena said: “The installation of this new colour changing lighting system has really improved the quality of our lighting solutions within the arena, and will help create an unforgettable experience for all our event-goers.

“The £800k system can create different atmospheres for all genres of event, and allows event organisers to use their exact brand colours throughout the arena.  With our lighting, they have more flexibility to deliver a bespoke customer journey, a unique option that cannot be found anywhere else in the UK at present.”

Michael Percy, technical project manager for Northern Light added: “Once again working with the NEC Group and with the Genting Arena team has been a privilege.  Between us we have produced a unique experience for their customers and have dramatically improved the facilities within the Arena. There were the obvious installation challenges along the way but working with Genting Arena team these were quickly resolved to deliver a world class simple to operate system.”
