On top of the world: Three Peaks Challenge raises £1,000 for charity

The Lime Venue Portfolio (LVP), Meetings Needs and Happy Days “Christmas with Sparkle” campaign took place over the Bank Holiday weekend with the successful completion of the three peak challenge.

Led by Richard Kadri-Langford, head of marketing at LVP, the three day, three meeting, three mountain challenge raised just under £1,000 for charity with more expected throughout their September promotion.

The team scaled Britain’s tallest mountains, Ben Nevis (27th), Scafell Pike (28th) and Snowden (29th) on each day. The money raised so far was through the sponsorship of the team, however LVP has committed to donating £10 for every enquiry taken in September that quotes #sparkle (subject to terms).

The challenge is part of a wider campaign developed between LVP, Meeting Needs, and Happy Days, one of Meeting Need’s partner charities, who create unique experiences for disabled and disadvantaged children. The campaign, “Christmas with Sparkle,” is running throughout September to raise up to £2,500 for Happy Days.

Kadri-Langford said: “We’ve had the most amazing support from the industry already for the campaign. The Three Peak Meeting Challenge has raised just short of £1,000, all of which will go to a very fitting charity.

“We’re really proud of how far we’ve come already, and equally proud to support Happy Days and Meetings Needs. The rest of the campaign kicked off on 1 September and is well on course to reach its £2,500 target.”

Jennifer Jenkins, chair of Meeting Needs added: “The guys put in a monumental effort for an amazing Meetings Needs charity. This is a brilliant initiative pulled together by event professionals that really care. We couldn’t be more grateful – or genuinely astounded – by their efforts. A real thank you from everyone at Meeting Needs.”

It is also clear from the video taken at the summit of Ben Nevis that the expedition took with them some fine reading material.
