Jurys takes Money to grow MICE segment

Richard Money has joined Jurys Inn as director of sales – MICE, filling a new position created to further support the hotel group’s M&E related segments and in response to their growing profile within the domestic market.

With the addition of eight new hotels, the number of available meeting rooms within Jurys Inn has increased by 78%. Money’s responsibilities include overseeing the M&E operation at six Hilton hotels and a Crowne Plaza that are operated by parent group Amaris Hospitality.

Two of the largest hotels within Money’s remit are Jurys Inn Hinckley Island and Jurys Inn Oxford. Both hotels are currently undergoing a complete refurbishment with just over £18m invested. Jurys Inn Hinckley Island has recently completed the refurbishment of a state of the art training suite, as well as two conference rooms with a maximum capacity of 650.

Jurys Inn Oxford has refurbished the existing 168 bedrooms and an additional 72 bedrooms are under construction, bringing the total number of rooms to 240.

The hotel will re-launch 20 conference rooms in autumn 2016, accommodating a maximum capacity of 300. Jurys Inn Oxford will complete its renovation in December 2016 with a new lobby complete with a Costa Coffee, a new bar, renovated Juvenate Health and Leisure Club and a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill. The Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill will have 180 covers.

Money has an extensive knowledge of the MICE market having gained valuable experience over the last 20 years. During this time he spent 11 years with DeVere Hotels before moving to The Belfry Hotel & Golf Resort as Regional Account Manager.  More recently Richard has worked in Singapore for Q Lifestyle and held business development roles in the UK at; Zibrant, 2BP and Imago.
