The first Greater Manchester Tourism Conference took place on 7 September at The Palace Hotel, which recently re-opened following an extensive refurbishment.

With the aim of becoming the region’s leading tourism event, the conference offered an informative, participative and business focused day for all members of the tourism industry in Greater Manchester and the North.

Speakers at the event included Tony Lloyd, Greater Manchester interim Mayor and police and crime commissioner; Patricia Yates, director of strategy and communication at VisitBritain; and Simon Calder, senior travel editor of The Independent.
