Team Challenge Company at 15: from karting to bug eating

Team building and corporate events business, Team Challenge Company, is celebrating its 15th anniversary in the industry, and to mark the occasion they are taking on 15 challenges.

The Dunfermline-based business is honouring the special anniversary with staff signing up to challenges which include a 15-mile hike, racing a peddle kart at 15mph, and being the fastest person to recite the mathematical value of Pi to 15 digits.

Team Challenge Company was founded in 2001 in a one-bedroom flat by Gerard Crowley and Stephen Hazley. The company employs 30 people during peak season and post turnover figures in excess of £1m. Their client list boasts household names such as AG Barr, Heineken and Aldi.

In addition to providing traditional team-building activities, Team Challenge Company likes to challenge the norm by offering more unusual events, such as pedal-kart racing, insect eating trials, and mental and physical tests against the clock.

When asked for this thoughts on the company’s anniversary, co-director Gerard Crowley said: “Myself and Stephen [Hazley] are extremely proud of what we have achieved over the last 15 years and are looking forward to the next 15.

“Despite pressures on the industry caused by the economy, we believe by continuing to push creative boundaries, delivering innovative and fun ideas, we shall further increase our presence in our target business sectors across technology, financial and pharmaceuticals.”
