The International Centre, Telford has followed up its ground-breaking demonstration of its locally created virtual reality technology at International Confex in March, by launching a 360° virtual reality site tour.
Now meeting planners and event organisers can view the Midlands venue in a new, imaginative way via a VR film that utilises an emerging media, transforming 2D technology into an immersive user experience.
The venue’s sales and marketing director Alison Griffin outlined the aim of the project: “We recognise prospective clients have time constraints in researching new venues and our VR site tour provides a captivating time-saving solution, enabling event bookers to experience all the venue has to offer, but without having to leave their office or desk.”
She added: “The video takes the user through a virtual reality journey, sparking their imagination and allowing them to visualise their events within the venue. Having started their experience virtually, our next step is to invite the user to visit Telford and find out more”.
Southwater Event Group CEO Tom Gray, owner of TIC, Telford said: “Exploring new technology is an essential aspect of our business, and to be among the first in our industry to utilise VR technology is hugely exciting. It’s great to see our venue marketed in this way and we are already looking at our next VR tour to promote our new hotel and multi-storey car park complex.”
The VR features a range of events recently held at TIC and shows off the versatility of the 15,000sqm of event space.
