Manchester-based Full Circle Events has announced the appointment of Simon Clifton as managing director. Clifton now joins CEO Steve Barratt, finance director Helenya Jones, and non-exec director David Freeman on the board.
Clifton joins Full Circle after a career that encompasses senior roles with Freeman, GES, 360 Creative Event Services and the NEC.
Clifton said: “This is a great opportunity to join a company with clear ambition, firm plans to grow and a very strong team. Steve has nurtured Full Circle through its first two years, from its inception to its current position, and I am delighted that he has entrusted me with the next phase of its growth.”
Over the past 12 months Full Circle underwent a programme called Project for Change, which involved a full analysis of clients, the company and its personnel. A key finding was the need to strengthen the core team within the business and this has already resulted in the appointment of Simon Sutor as senior partner. The programme also identified the need for the appointment of a managing director.
Full Circle CEO Barratt welcomed Clifton to the board saying: “Full Circle has made significant growth over the past two years and Project for Change identified the need have a strong board and team to drive the business forward; the appointment of Simon is a key part of this process. Simon is a well respected and proven figure in the industry, he brings with him knowledge, experience and the energy to maintain the momentum gained to date. His appointment as managing director will enable me to channel my time and energy into those aspects of the business where I can be most effective.”
Full Circle Events was founded in 2013 and employs 80 people at its Manchester HQ, and at both its NEC and London offices.
