Online venue-finding marketplace HeadBox has been nominated for ‘Fastest growth company of the year’ at the High Potential Business Awards 2016.
The awards, now in their 10th year, recognise some of the UK’s most promising and fast-growing businesses and the finance and advisory organisations that support them.
Founded in October 2015 with £1.2m funding, the online platform’s board directors include: HeadBox chairman Ralph Kugler, who is also Chairman of Cognita Schools and former main board director of Unilever; Martin McCourt, former CEO of Dyson; Aaron Simpson, Global CEO and co-founder of the Quintessentially Group; and Andy Cosslett, former CEO of InterContinental Hotels and former chairman of the Rugby World Cup.
The nomination follows the company’s expansion into Birmingham and Manchester and news that HeadBox gained a place in the 2016 Startups 100 list as featured in The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and Forbes.
HeadBox CEO and founder Andrew Needham said: “We are delighted to be nominated for an award that focuses on businesses that have displayed impressive organic growth. It is a testament to the strong team of HeadBoxers I have with me and acknowledges the close group of experienced and supportive investors that are on board. The company was born as a result of how difficult and time-consuming it was to book creative spaces.”
Since launching, HeadBox claims it has processed thousands of enquiries and bookings while doubling the unique visitors to its website.
The High Potential Business Awards take place on 22 June 2016 at The Savoy London hotel.
