Moulden Marketing and Terra Firma seminar to explore threats to industry

Travel marketing company Moulden Marketing is jointly organising, with crisis management experts Terra Firma Risk Management, a seminar on the threats facing the MICE industry.

To be hosted at the Montcalm London Marble Arch Hotel on 25 August 2016, as part of a destination showcase, the seminar, organisers claim, will involve experts with experience of dealing with 650 critical incidents in 70 countries.

Terra Firma says it will advise event professionals and DMC service providers how to prepare their companies should the worst happen.

Two seminars titled ‘When crisis strikes – are you ready?’ are part of the free-to-attend, one-day showcase that Moulden Marketing hopes will bring 65 international MICE suppliers, together with a mix of hotels, DMCs, convention bureaux and tourist boards.

Moulden Marketing MD Gillian Moulden said: “Any industry that revolves around travel should be hugely aware of the current threats that we face. As recently as 2015 we saw the earthquakes in Nepal, and during the Paris attacks we were aware of agencies that had groups in the city at the time. Our question is whether agencies and their staff are fully engaged with the process of crisis management and whether they are fully prepared should the worst happen.

“Terra Firma’s personnel have a wealth of global experience of prevention and preparedness support, including security training and crisis simulation exercises. It will be fantastic to have their expertise, knowledge and insight into such a prominent topic for buyers and suppliers alike.”
