The success of London Technology Week is testament to the strength of collaboration and inclusivity.
As organisers of the week, UBM has been united in our vision with both our founding partner, London & Partners, Tech London Advocates and ExCel London and key strategic partners Tech City UK, techUK and UKTI, to provide an event that would embrace the entire tech ecosystem.
Beyond our partners, it has been the backing and support of over 220 event organisers and over 190 host venues, that has confirmed the position of London Technology Week 2016 as the Capital’s most exciting and innovative major new international event.
The growth of London Technology Week 2016 has been phenomenal, but what has excited me most has been the new areas of events and sectors engaging in tech. Complementing both the established core business themes and expanse of start-up events, the biggest growth seen at London Technology Week 2016 has been focused on the future, and recognising the next wave of technology and thinking that will redefine our world.
Issues such as the convergence and disruption of new sectors including science, fashion, education and healthcare. Research in IoT, smart homes, autonomous vehicles, advanced robotics and AI and how this will further advance our digital society. And the tech community itself challenging its own culture in talent, diversity and inclusivity.
Within a programme of 300 events, London Technology Week offers a breadth of content for everyone, but as a collective voice, there have been some clear stand-out themes that will occupy everyone’s attention over the year ahead.
As for 2017, London Technology Week will continue to grow and evolve, aligned with the dynamic market it serves. That’s its real strength, providing a powerful umbrella under which all can thrive without being tied to any one topic or niche.
