fresh recruits from ASDA and Ashfield

Full service creative events agency The fresh Group has hired ASDA’s ex-head of brand strategy, Steph Hughes, along with Ashfield Meetings and Events agency’s ex-business and account director Sarah-Jane Johnston.

fresh MD Patrick Howells said the group was “always on the lookout for expertise such as that brought to us by Steph and Sarah-Jane”.

Hughes joined the Cheshire-based agency on 29 April as senior account director and brings 20 years of grocery retail experience, while Johnston took up a newly created position as head of account team on 1 June.

Johnston has B2B and B2C experience working in agencies, public sector and also venue side, delivering a wide variety of events in the UK, Europe and overseas. “What Sarah-Jane doesn’t know about the world of events is probably not worth knowing,” said Howells.

Fresh employs 80 industry specialists and is based at £2.2m, purpose built headquarters, at Cheadle Royal. In 2015, the agency reported turnover of £14m.
