Event Connections gets the vote to work on EU Referendum count accreditation

Event registration and event management service provider Event Connections has been appointed to manage and deliver accreditation services for the EU Referendum National Result Event on behalf of the Electoral Commission.

The agency, with offices in London and Brighton, is providing a customised pre-event online accreditation system that enables full screening of potential attendees.

On the night of the count, which takes place on the 23 June in Manchester, Event Connections will provide an on-site service for accreditation badge collection and subsequent scanning into the venue. The live scanning functionality will enable officials to track people in real time and know exactly who is in the building.

Event Connections will be working alongside the Electoral Commission, the Police, Manchester City Council and others to devise and implement protocols ensuring that the count process can be reported and observed in a safe and secure environment.

Warren Seddon, head of media and public affairs at the Electoral Commission says: “The final national result of June’s historic EU referendum will be announced from Manchester Town Hall and we are pleased to be working with Event Connections to ensure that the national count event runs as smoothly and securely as possible for those attending it.”

Andy Barr, MD of Event Connections, adds: “Our ability to customise everything that we do was instrumental in us winning this project. The Electoral Commission was impressed by our partnership approach and we are delighted to work together to ensure that the referendum count event has the very best solution in place.”
