Coventry’s Ricoh Arena followed up its hosting of the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards last week by hosting 38,000 Bruce Springsteen fans.
The Ricoh Arena is home to both Coventry City FC and Wasps rugby union team and hosts many conferences and exhibitions, yet The Boss drew the biggest gate of all, 3 June, and treated the audience to hits from his latest album The Ties That Bind: The River Collection.
Fans began queueing for the concert four days early, and were kept going with tea and bacon sandwiches from the Ricoh Arena’s catering team.
Andy Gibb, managing director of the Ricoh Arena, said: “The atmosphere was absolutely electric inside the Ricoh Arena on the night. It’s easy to see why so many people love watching The Boss – he feeds off the crowd’s energy and loves interacting with them between songs that are revered by so many.
“This was just one of three venues Bruce Springsteen chose to play in the UK this year.” Rihanna is next on the Ricoh’s concert card on Saturday, 25 June.
