Isleworth-based experiential agency TRO is preparing for a busy event season by recruiting 20 new event operators to supplement its existing crew of 45.
The new influx will bolster the full service offering and the ‘team on the ground’, who transport, set-up and manage event kit and activations for clients including BMW, Volvo, Ribena, Lucozade, Vauxhall and Diageo.
The new recruits have skills including carpentry, engineering, customer service, sports coaching and military and TRO operations director Gary Wootton says the agency selected candidates with such backgrounds to match skills and personalities with clients’ brands. “Having a mechanical background, for example, is advantageous to some of our automotive clients, whilst those with a keen sports interest match well for brands like Lucozade,” he said.
Wootton added that the recruits had gone through an intensive three-month selection process which had included four assessment days.
“Event operators can be the final TRO touchpoint at an event so it is hugely important that we invest in a thorough recruitment and training strategy,” said Wootton, who noted the TRO operator’s toolbox now included a tablet enabling full remote connectivity to drive logistical efficiencies and real-time updates for clients.
TRO says it is set for a busy summer season, with major events including BMW PGA Championship and Goodwood Festival of Speed.
