The UK has followed up its improvement in its bureaucratic visa application process for citizens in China and India with a smarter and quicker service for those applying in South Africa and the rest of the world.
UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has now introduced its improved ‘Access UK’ user-friendly online visa application service to ensure the process for South African citizens is now “simple, less admin-intensive and less stressful for customers”.
Access UK is now available in South Africa for customers who wish to apply for a standard visitor visa.
This new online service involves a shorter application form, with logically-ordered, relevant questions which are based on customer feedback.
The online form can also be accessed on mobile devices, and be reviewed, edited and downloaded at any point before submission.
Access UK allows customers to apply for a visit visa, book an appointment at a Visa Application Centre near them, as well as pay online for their application through the standard, priority or super-priority visa services.
Improvements based on customer suggestions are also being made to the online service launched in China.
Access UK is provided in parallel with Visa4UK website but, over time, all customers applying for visit visas to the UK will be redirected to the new Access UK service and Visa4UK will still be available as a service for other types of visa applications and customer groups.
