RIBA Venues has announced (24 May) it has won the contract to host the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for its 2016 annual general meeting and awards ceremony.
The London venue will host the one-day event for 200 people in its Jarvis Hall on 15 July.
RCVS sets standards for veterinary education and regulates the professional conduct of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses in the UK.
The AGM will see the appointment of new members of RCVS Council and the Veterinary Nurses Council and is also an opportunity for members to ask questions.
The awards bestowed on the day will include the Queen’s Medal, Honorary Associateships, Fellowships and veterinary nursing diplomas. The awards will be given out by the outgoing president of the RCVS Dr Bradley Viner, who will also give an address reflecting his year of tenure.
The event is concluded with a sit down lunch in the venue’s Florence Hall.
An RCVS spokesman said: “We were very impressed with the facilities on offer, particularly the light and airy ambience of Jarvis Hall, and it more than fulfilled all our needs for the occasion in terms of catering and space.”
RIBA Venues head of venues, Stephanie Ellrott, said: “We are delighted to welcome the RCVS for the very first time for what is a key date in its events calendar.”
